My Cup Runneth Over With Blessings and Hubnuggets
Well the holidays are upon us now and today is officially the biggest shopping day to start off the most commercialized holiday ever. Everyone is hustling and bustling to get to all the sales and Christmas has been reduced to statistics on how much money business's are making, instead of what is really important. Family, Love, Togetherness, Giving of oneself and not necessarily something that you can put your hands on, wear, eat or drink.
Growing up in a household of 4 sisters and 2 brothers Christmas for us was never the presentation that it has become now, where there are dozens of presents for one person under the tree. Truth be told, we were lucky if we had one present under that tree, yes lucky, and grateful all the same. We definitely were not spoiled by toys and gadgets but we did always receive something and although it may not have been expensive or even what was popular that year, there was still a magical feeling to know that there was something underneath the tree for me. Memories, yes memories make the best gifts.
So now Thanksgiving was yesterday and I hope that everyone had a great holiday and were able to spend the day with family and friends. Thanksgiving has always been one of those holidays that I enjoy very much and not just because of the food but because I love the noises that it brings. Noises of pots and pans clanking together, noises of laughter and chatter. And togetherness with my family always makes everything so nice. There are so many things that I am grateful for that my blessings definitely do runneth over. I'm grateful for my mother and sisters and my two brothers. All my children and grandchildren and my circle of friends who make my daily life so much more enjoyable. And no matter what is going on I am so grateful to have a roof over my head and that my health is good and really what more can a person ask for?
Hubnuggets
Ah ha yes hubnuggets! It is that time again to read and vote for all those hubs that have been nominated by our hubnugget team. Every week we choose a few hubs to nominate from each category which this week is Health, Home Religion and Philosophy.
The hubnugget program is a great way for new writers to get some attention here on hubpages. If you are fairly new to hubpages and havent been writing for more than three months then you are eligible to be nominated for a hubnugget award. Your hubscore should be around 75 or better and it always helps to utilize all the capsules that are available here, such as for photos, and videos. Original content is a must and may just get you nominated for that most prestigious award. So if you are lucky enough to get nominated, then go tell all your friends and family to vote for you and most importantly have a great time writing.
